I have this recollection of a fic I read once about Bobby and Dean, where Dean asked Bobby who was his favorite between him and Sam. It was from Bobby's POV, and I think Bobby was thinking to himself that Dean was his favorite, but he didn't think it would be good for Dean if he told him that. There was a oneshot and a remix that I read many years ago. The plot was that Dean was actually an ugly child, but during a hunt got cursed/blessed by fairy magic to be beautiful. And that's why he has the face we know and love. One or both of them were from Sam's POV.

I remember loving this fic. I believe it was multi-chapter, set during season 1 while Sam and Dean are still looking for their father. They go to a swamp in the south to help out an old hunter acquaintance of John's.
